Hello, it has been a long time since I have written anything. So, I'm back with a new and as usual real story. It's wedding season and so many weddings are there. I also attended my elder sister's wedding. She was looking stunning not only because she wore a stunning outfit but also because she was smiling and laughing all the time. She was happy and she wanted her pictures to have a smiling face and not a sad one in her wedding album. She was joyful, happy and gay buttt..... as always something has to happen because nothing can be so perfect. So, it happened. Somebody came and scolded her for showing too much teeth and for smiling for the camera. An elder came and told her "Jyada daat mat dikha shadi hai teri".
She became upset because she is way too emotional and she takes everything to her heart. Her charming smile transformed into a sad face. We were wondering what happened, it's her day, she was so happy that she couldn't hide her smile. But suddenly she had tears. We asked her and she told us the entire thing. She was heartbroken and said that she will not smile again. We talked to her and made her understand that if she is happy then there is no to reason hide that happiness and she is not supposed to give a damn to these things. People here don't have any work so they will continue passing these foolish comments which don't have any importance. Then she went for tying knot with her husband and again while sitting in front of that fire she was all joyful and she wore her smile back. Again we heard some ladies talking about her smile and asking each other to ask the bride to stop smiling. Everything just finished happily and when we went back home I asked my mom about this. My mom replied to my question "Beta hasna allowed nahi hota dulhan ko sharmana chahiye". π
This answer actually stunned me. What the hell is going in their minds. Why cant't someone smile if she/he is happy. I don't find anything wrong in this. I don't know what you people think. But smile is the most beautiful thing that one can wear and that wedding was her day so why was she asked to not to smile. Ek taraf to shadi vale din dulhan ko sabse sundar dikhana chahte hai or dusri taraf you are asking her to not to wear the most beautiful thing. Hats off to these double standards. I don't know when people will start using there own brain instead of following these stupid things. Why people even accept these without thinking for a while. This one is a very small thing, there are many other things like these which are going on and being followed by people blindly.
Open your eyes and stop following blindly. There is no harm in smiling. A smile will not do anything wrong to you. So, keep smiling and let others smile too.ππ

The problem is our mindset. We r brought up in an environment where we are taught women are less stronger than men.How much educated we get, whatever outgoings we do but our mindset did not changes.Take the examples of navratra where we worship various forms of a woman but we never even respect her in real.
ReplyDeleteTruly said, but many things have changed over time and many are waiting for us to change them
